How this site makes money and how that affects (or doesn't affect) our recommendations

Plain English Summary

💡

The short version: Some links on this site earn us a small commission if you make a purchase through them. It costs you nothing extra. We only link to products and services we genuinely recommend based on personal use. Our opinions are never influenced by whether or not a commission is involved.

YourNextTrip.pro is an independently owned travel blog. We are not backed by investors, not owned by a media group, and not sponsored by any tourism board. To keep this site running and free to read, we generate revenue through affiliate partnerships and display advertising.

How Affiliate Links Work

An affiliate link is a specially coded URL. When you click one and make a qualifying purchase, the retailer or service provider pays us a referral commission — typically between 3% and 15% of the sale. This commission comes from the partner's marketing budget; you pay exactly the same price as you would going directly to the site.

Affiliate links on YourNextTrip.pro work as follows:

  • They are embedded naturally within guide content wherever relevant, not inserted artificially
  • You are never required to use them — you can always book directly with the provider
  • The presence of an affiliate link does not mean the product or service is the best option for every traveler; we always aim to present alternatives
  • We never recommend something solely because it has an affiliate program. If the best option for a given situation has no affiliate link, we recommend it anyway

Our Partners

We maintain affiliate relationships with a limited number of travel-related companies. Our current partners include the types of services below. We regularly review these relationships and remove any partner whose product quality declines.

Category Examples Type
Accommodation Booking.com, Hostelworld, Hotels.com Affiliate
Travel Insurance SafetyWing, World Nomads Affiliate
Flight Search Skyscanner, Google Flights Affiliate
Tours & Experiences GetYourGuide, Viator Affiliate
Travel Gear Amazon, REI Affiliate
Display Advertising Google AdSense, Mediavine Ad Network

This list is representative and may not be exhaustive. If you have a question about a specific link, contact us.

Impact on Content

The existence of affiliate partnerships has zero influence on our editorial recommendations. This is a firm policy, not an aspiration. Practically, this means:

  • If we recommend a hostel and it has no affiliate program, we still link to it directly
  • We do not rank or order recommendations based on commission rates
  • We do not withhold negative information about a product because we have an affiliate relationship with the company
  • Affiliate commission is never a factor in whether a guide or review is published

We recognize this requires you to take us at our word. Our Editorial Policy provides further detail on our standards and how we maintain them.

FTC Compliance

This disclosure is made in accordance with the United States Federal Trade Commission's guidelines on endorsements and testimonials in advertising (16 CFR Part 255). While YourNextTrip.pro is not based in the United States, we adhere to these standards as best practice for transparency regardless of jurisdiction.

In simple terms: whenever we have a material financial relationship with a company whose products or services we mention, we disclose it. This page serves as the site-wide disclosure, and where practical, individual articles also include an inline affiliate notice.
